A Comprehensive Look At The Atkins Diet Plan! |
|
May 31, 2005 By: Melissa Cameron Atkins Diet Alternatives – There Are ManyThere are many diet books in the market, but not all diet books available are full of the best advice, even if they have a history of selling well. There are many Atkins diet alternatives, such as low fat diets, cabbage soup diets, red wine diets and more, but the preferred and recommended alternatives should always be just a simple balanced diet plan. Dr. Robert Atkins formed his research over a number of years, and his books prove extremely popular but when the magazine, Which?, carried out detailed surveys of certain titles, they were astonished to find that some did not contain the best nutritional advice. Many consumers have a different lifestyle and varying health issues and professional advice should be followed when taking up a special plan, and an Atkins diet alternative should be recommended when the person is unable to follow the various Atkins plans. Which? voiced increasing concern over the trendy fad diet plans, of which the Atkins plans are a part. With celebrities endorsing the plan it influences the average person to follow the diet without considering the long term health effects. A good alternative diet book or plan should outline the importance of regular physical exercise, include information about maintaining the weight lost through healthy eating, and recipes should be given which encourage this. They should also outline who can follow the diets. Atkins books supplied minimal information like this, not always outlining that the diet plans can cause long term health effects, like Ketosis. The top three books judged by Which? Were Fighting Fat, Fighting Fit (Janette Marshall), the New Body Plan and the Red Wine Diet (Rosemary Conley).
