Low Carb Food – Now Available Easily

Low carb food, like meat, cheese and eggs are highly promoted in the low carbohydrate/high protein diets, such as Dr. Atkins diet plans. According to Atkins, the lower the intake of carbs, the more effective the diet is, making it easier for the follower to reach their target weight without sacrificing the taste and quality of food.

Pasta, ketchup, bread recipes and pizzas can now be eaten by low carbohydrate diet followers as new low carb foods, like low carb pizzas, have been created. The new products have been so popular that the supermarkets have struggled to keep items on the shelves, due to the huge following of low carbohydrate diets.

Low carb food sales have confirmed how much the lower carb plans have really taken off, and following the introduction of Atkins Endulge low carbohydrate ice cream, there is no wonder that you can really follow the diet but still eat your favorite foods. A health food store in Hanover confirmed that one-third of their sales are from low carbohydrate foods and lower carbohydrate vegetables. Floor space devoted to these foods will be expanded to make room as demand is so high.

One item that has been popular is the low carbohydrate Michelob Ultra which is a top selling beer. Labatt USA have announced that it will release a similar item under its ‘Rolling Rock’ title and no doubt cafes and restaurants will follow suit by training their staff to differentiate between high and lower carb foods and drinks.

The food that the plans promote have been a subject of much negative press, as the traditional rules of low-fat diets have been in place for so long and health professionals continue to promote them. It seems to be taking a while to prove that minimal fat/low carb foods are actually good for the diet, even though no research studies have shown evidence to prove otherwise.
