A Comprehensive Look At The Atkins Diet Plan! |
|
August 28, 2005 By: Melissa Cameron New Atkins Studies – Results Surprise EveryoneVarious new Atkins studies have come up with astonishing results. This has resulted in a new campaign regarding Dr. Atkins diet plans which may just disprove old and traditional ideas that may still adhere to. The new Atkins study has been carried out on those following the Atkins diet, or low carb diets, and the findings have been rather astonishing to say the least. For a long time, health professionals have believed that high in fat diets have been the cause of weight gain, but Dr. Atkins studies have shown otherwise and research continues into whether or not the diet is dangerous. The Atkins diet was introduced in the 1970’s after decades of research carried out by Dr. Atkins, and then following the re-release of his ‘New Diet Revolution’ book in the 1990’s, the Atkins plan has found new popularity with over thirty million people world wide. The theory is that carbs are the main cause of weight gain, and that a controlled diet containing lower carbs actually helps weight loss, and new research is arguing this theory. With more people finding that they lose nearly twice as much weight as on a traditional diet, new studies have been completed to find the real story about the so called ‘unhealthy’ diet but the findings have not yet disproved the theory. In fact, many of the studies have actually provided new findings that the risk of heart disease is not increased, and blood pressure and cholesterol actually improved on those taking part. Comprehensive studies have yet to be carried out; the research completed so far were very short and carried out on a small group. The results have proved the theory that you do lose weight on the Atkins diet. Professionals will continue recommending diets that do not exclude the foods we have long been encouraged to eat.
