A Comprehensive Look At The Atkins Diet Plan! |
|
August 31, 2005 By: Melissa Cameron Atkins Diet Findings – Lowers Cholesterol And Blood PressureThere have not been many studies or research into Dr. Atkins theory that carbohydrates are actually responsible for weight gain, and not fat as is traditionally thought. Atkins diet findings are few and far between, but this is changing. One study had a very important Atkins diet finding; people following a low carb diet plan did so without increasing their risk of heart disease and finished the diet with lower cholesterol and lower blood pressure than when they began. Health professionals continue to encourage their patients to follow a balanced diet plan that follows the rule that low fat means weight loss, although now being proved wrong. Following a controlled diet plan, where you take in less carbs and more protein foods, and a very strict induction diet is actually turning out to be just as Dr. Atkins claimed all along, although many health associations continue to be negative. Recently published in the New England Journal of Medicine, may be the finding we have been waiting for. The study concluded that following a low carb diet plan actually helps you to lose twice as much weight as those following a traditional low fat diet.
