A Comprehensive Look At The Atkins Diet Plan! |
|
February 26, 2006 By: Melissa Cameron Atkins Diet Plans – Lot Of FollowersThere are many diet plans in the country. But none is more famous then Atkins diet plans. The plans are based on the theory that carbohydrates are bad and minimize carb intake; there is no restriction on the amount of protein you eat with these diets. The Atkins diet plan allows dieters to eat meat, eggs, cheese and many other foods. This allows the dieter to continue with the diet. In fact, people stick to the Atkin diets and follow them rigorously. The plan states that we can change our body’s metabolism rate, which in turn would assist in weight loss. According to Dr. Atkins, the reason for weight gain is the production of insulin in huge quantities due to intake of carbs. In the Atkin plan, carbs are consumed in minimal quantities, while the consumption of protein and fat is not limited at all. The benefits of the diets are many. For example, people can eat protein and fat to their hearts content without worry; no food cravings, and weight loss is consistent. The diet plan is also easy to understand. Unfortunately, many believe that excessive reliance on fat and muscle for energy could lead to dehydration as carbs are limited in the diet. Some say that the Atkin diet could lead to a condition called ketosis, though it is unsubstantiated as of yet. It is advised to consult a doctor before commencing on any diet plan. About
